Welcome to চাগনালা

The name চাগনালা comes from two words: “Chag” meaning page and “Chala” meaning spring(rabhasubheswar.blogspot.com). Here, you will find posts about the Rabha language, culture, traditions, festivals, and my personal reflections. My goal is to give the world a glimpse of who we are, preserve our heritage, and ensure that our voices remain alive and heard.

I am Subheswar Rabha, from Bardamal, Goalpara, Assam. Since my school days in classes 9–10, I have dreamed of doing something meaningful for my tribe. I imagined creating a space where our language, culture, and traditions could be celebrated and shared beyond our villages. For many years, it remained just a dream—but now, through Chagnala, I am slowly turning that vision into reality. Nemrasong

The Rabha language is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken mainly in Northeast India — especially in Assam, Meghalaya, and West Bengal — by the Rabha community. This language is not merely a medium of communication; it is an intimate part of the traditions, folk tales, music, narratives, and lifestyle of the Rabha people. As a vibrant thread of rich culture and heritage, the Rabha language adds more color and life to the diverse cultural fabric of the region. Rabha have several subgroups- Rangdhani, Pati rabha dhahori Rabha,bitliya rabha, maitori, kocha,sunga, totla rabha etc. Here the focus is Rongdhani Rabha language.
